The HSI Basic Life Support (BLS) program is for participants to gain or improve knowledge and skill proficiency in high-quality CPR skills and teamwork for the adult, child, and infant.
HSI Basic Life Support (BLS) reflects the latest resuscitation science and treatment recommendations published by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), and it conforms with the 2020 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC and the annual Guidelines Update. Continuing Education Hours Available: Emergency Medical Services (CAPCE) and Dental Professionals (AGD/PACE).

- Initial Instructor-Led Class: About 5 hours
- Renewal Instructor-Led Class: About 2 hours

Course Options
Northwest Response delivers the BLS on-site. We bring the class to your facility.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is available in two (2) different training methods – Blended Learning and Classroom Training.
All BLS course options teach the same science-based skills as AHA and ARC, and result in HSI BLS Course Completion Card.
Course Fees:
We do have a minimum fee of $450.00 which covers the first five (5) BLS students. For each additional student the fee is $75.00
The HSI Basic Life Support Certification is approved by The Washington State Dental Association, The Washington State Department of Health, Labor & Industries and OSHA

Captain Thomas E. Bliss is a Licensed USCG Master Mariner & Emergency Medical Responder.
Thomas logs thousands of hours each year in various safety training courses from BT (formerly BST), Emergency Medical Responder, complex SAR (Search and Rescue) training courses, and Fast Rescue Boat OTW operations.
Captain Bliss continues to honorably serve with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary as a COXSWAIN, USCG District 13, and as the USCG AUX Gig Harbor Detachment Leader.
