Student certification requirements

• Written evaluation: ONLY Required when specified by organizational, local, or state regulation. It is recommended for designated responders with a duty or employer expectation to respond in an emergency and provide first aid care.

• Performance evaluation: All students must perform required skills competently without assistance.

Adult First Aid, CPR/AED

MEDIC First Aid BasicPlus is a combined adult first aid, AED, and CPR certification course designed specifically for the occupational first aid provider. This extremely flexible program will help employers meet OSHA and other federal and state regulatory requirements for training employees how to respond and care for medical emergencies at work. BasicPlus conforms to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC, and the 2015 AHA and ARC Guidelines Update for First Aid.

Training Options

The class is available for onsite training. Full course,  Blended Learning or our open enrollment class at the Center For Wooden Boats.

Onsite training has a minimum fee of $850.00 and that fee covers the first 10 students, each additional student is $85.00. Twelve (12) students is our cut off point for a single instructor.

Course Timeline

The Basic First Aid/CPR/AED class runs 4.5 to 5 hours.

For On-site training the space required is roughly 17sq ft per student in classroom.

Practical skills and scenario based training requires an open space/indoor.

About Your Instructor

(L) Thomas Bliss

 

Captain Thomas E. Bliss is a Licensed USCG Master Mariner & Emergency Medical Responder.

Thomas logs thousands of hours each year in various safety training courses from BT (formerly BST), Emergency Medical Responder, complex SAR (Search and Rescue) training courses, and Fast Rescue Boat OTW operations.

Captain Bliss continues to honorably serve with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary as a COXSWAIN, USCG District 13, and as the USCG AUX Gig Harbor Detachment Leader.
