Wilderness First Aid for USGS April 4-5
STUDENT PREPARATION
- Classroom days:
- Snacks, beverage, comfy clothes (you may be used as a victim, dragged, rolled, carried)
- Watch with a second hand (analogue preferred)
- Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen (as needed)
- Water bottle, and extra water for day two.
- Pack lunch for day two.
- Snacks
- Light day pack
- Waterproof outerwear top/bottom
- Sturdy Gloves for warmth and hand protection
- Light hiking boots or sturdy shoes (waterproof)
- Clothing layers that allow student to be
comfortable in a variety of weather conditions - Comfortable shoes for classroom time (optional)
- Camp chair for outdoor classroom time (optional)
- Students should bring personal first aid kits to class both days to examine contents.
- Day Two: Students should arrive in clothing that may be destroyed (shirts /pants), and bring an extra set to change into after the day’s training.
- Prescription Medications
All medical conditions should be reported to instructors. All information received will be held confidence in accordance with HIPPA regulations. Any written instructions or declarations of health shall be returned to student at the conclusion of the course. - Extra prescription eye glasses
