What information should I know about the Zacurate 500BL Pulse Oximeter to ensure I get accurate readings?

In the product details section of this webpage, please refer to the application guide, product documentation, troubleshoot guide and quick start guide for important details to know before using this item and ensure the item gives accurate readings.

Does movement of any kind affect the product’s ability to provide an accurate reading?

Yes, movement of any kind can lead the device to display inaccurate readings. It is important to use the device as specified in the application guide, product documentation, troubleshoot guide and quick start guides.

What are normal oxygen saturation levels?

The normal reading for blood oxygen is typically in the 95-100 range. However, there are certain conditions where this may not apply. Your doctor will be in the best position to advice where your readings should be.

Can I check my readings while I am exercising?

Any movement can cause the device to reset its readings. If you are in the middle of exercising, we advise to take readings during resting phases while the body is not mobile. If you have finished, wait 10-15 minutes before taking a reading.

What is the real accuracy deviation of this Zacurate Oximeter and what does it mean?

The pulse oximeter has an accuracy level of +/-2%. This means that the item’s blood oxygen saturation readings are a close or exact correct measurement within a standard deviation of +/-2%

5 Stars for quality and what you pay and get, 4 Stars Overalls.Hi,The reason I bought this first is for the reviews and quality and of course price. The build quality is excellent compared to even some of the ones I’ve seen at urgent care and practices. I also didn’t mind that it didn’t come with a case but when I got I think I should have gotten one with a case. I’ll be brief and save you time. The reasons I don’t like is:1) There is a slight lag between getting the first readings which tended to be a bit lower and then after few seconds stabilizing to the actual reading. I’m used to the heavy duty medical grade ones at some of the doctor office that give you the most accurate results within seconds. Unfair comparison I know and I should have paid a few dollars more for the other models of the same brand. I actually compared it to a professional series model that I was able to get. I have very serious lung health issues and sometimes wear a Holter monitor (portable heart monitor). I always like to monitor my O2 especially when running, long trails and hikes, elevation, etc, and to keep as a log. This and the other more professional ones will give you the same results but they do it faster from the start with little variation. If don’t mind the slight delay and eventual result, then no worries there.2) How often are you going to use it and when you do, how often will you take the readings? Again, see above.3) I’m a 6’2″ Caucasian male with good size hands and fingers. I think if my finger fit in better from the start, my results with this may have been better. In other words I couldn’t just slip my finger in and out. It’s like I had to adjust its placement and it was a bit small for me which may have affected my initial results.

Easy and accurateEasy to understand. Easy to use. Easy to read. Seems to be very accurate too. Battery operated and comes with batteries. Automatic turn off when no longer in use. Only takes a few seconds. I counted around 8 seconds to shut off. To turn on, you press the button once and wait a few seconds for it to adjust. Fits nicely on finger, not tight, not loose. Great purchase all around in my personal experience.

Important instrument to keep track of your healthThis little instrument allows you to keep track of your oxygen level and pulse to check your health. Dr’s offices use it all the time so now so can you.

  4. Deni of the Desert

Works well for my first oxygen monitorIt is just like being in the doctor’s office. Seems to work the same. Would not know how accurate it is since I have nothing to compare with.

  5. peter mantjos

the movementits great BUT when you have to have your finger stationary, once you move it the reading stops which gets annoying, i would recommend another one where you can move your fingers and it still reads

  6. Janice Deng

Good device at so low priceI had one of other brand for $65. After 3 years it’s broken. I bought this one with so low price. It works the same as the other one and it shows heart pulse also.

  7. Kate Reading and Sewing in South Carolina

Works great, price is fair – happy with itI had a different brand that stopped reading, after a year, so I purchased this Monitor to check oxygen saturation/pulse while exercising. It works great.

  8. Carol

Is hard to read the displayI got this as a second pulse oximeter. It is accurate in its readings, but it is harder to read. It looks great in photos, but in real life the entire number is not lit like shown or like my other oximeter. Each segment of the number has a small lit dot with a larger dark space between the lit area. That was disappointing as it isn’t quite as easily read, especially if someone’s vision isn’t the best. It is accurate and very easy to use. Batteries are easily installed, the little door slides off without any problems and the +/- are clearly labeled.

  9. A. Francois

Like this one!I purchased this for my mom and have enjoyed using it so far. The price was great and it is easy to use and understand. Mom is able to use it by herself. That matters! I would suggest it to anyone needing to keep up with oxygen levels. As far as I can tell it is accurate as well.

  10. THE PHOENIX N7

Reads better than most brans doAlways gets a good read and better than so many other brands do in comparison, trust me, I’ve tried a bit. Amazing price!
